Advanced Earth Observation and Geospatial Analysis Solutions

ALBAVALOR provides remote sensing, modelling and data analysis services for scientific, environmental and climate applications, as part of the ACRI Group, a European Earth Observation and environmental intelligence group.

Who we are

We are a company specialised in the exploitation of Earth Observation data, developing satellite-based and numerical modelling solutions to support decision-making in science, industry and public administrations. ALBAVALOR is part of the ACRI Group, which brings together several EO and IT companies across Europe with strong experience in satellite mission ground segments and applications.

Our team brings decades of experience in remote sensing, oceanography, agriculture, climate science, soil mositure, big data and machine learning.

Our focus

  • Reliable, well‑validated EO products
  • Tailor‑made algorithms and workflows
  • Integration of satellite, ground data and models
  • Knowledge transfer to end users
  • Actionable information for agricultural, environmental, climate and ocean applications

Services

We support space agencies, research centres and companies throughout the entire data lifecycle: from acquisition to final operational products.

Earth Observation Data Processing & Algorithms

Design and operation of processing chains for low-, medium- and high-resolution EO missions, including sensor calibration, atmospheric correction, and generation of value-added products. Development of advanced algorithms for land, ocean, and atmospheric variables using physically-based and AI-driven approaches.

Geospatial Modelling & Scientific Analysis

Integration of EO data with numerical models, spatio-temporal (4D) analysis, and scientific exploitation of Earth Observation products to derive environmental and climate indicators for research, operational, and policy applications.

Project Delivery, R&D & User Support

Research and development activities led by staff scientists with strong doctoral backgrounds in atmospheric and oceanographic sciences. Proven project management of national, European, and international collaborative projects, complemented by technical and scientific writing, end-user support, quality control, and service assurance.

Portfolio

Albavalor offers satellite mission solutions across a range of services, including development of ground segment algorithms and applications, data quality assessment and validation. We participate in national and international projects in collaboration with space agencies (ESA, Copernicus), universities and research centres, within the broader ACRI Group ecosystem.

S3 OPT-MPC

Copernicus is the world's largest single earth observation programme and is directed by the European ommission in partership with the European Space Agency (ESA). As part of the Opt-MPC consortium, Albavalor is responsible for the validation of Sentinel-3 Level-2 land products, including OTCI and GIFAPAR, ensuring their scientific quality and performance.

GBOV

Ground Based Observation for Validation (GBOV) aims to facilitate the use of data from operational ground-based monitoring networks, providing out-of-the-box information for a comprehensive assessment of the quality of Copernicus products. As a member of the consortium, Albavalor is responsible for the Soil Moisture data.

4DBALTDYN

The 4DBALTDYN EXPRO+ project aims to enhance the understanding of the Baltic Sea ecosystem and its dynamics through cutting-edge technology and interdisciplinary collaboration. The project provides comprehensive 4D reconstructions of the Baltic Sea environment by combining Earth Observation data with advanced modelling.

Baltic Sea · EO Modelling

TiPSOO

TiPSOO (Tipping Points in the Southern Ocean Overturning) is a research project investigating potential tipping points in the Southern Ocean Overturning Circulation (SOOC) and their implications for the global climate system. The project is coordinated by Albavalor.

ESA CCI · Model simulations

CCI+SSS

The ESA Climate Change Initiative (CCI) Sea Surface Salinity (SSS) aims to generate improved calibrated global SSS fields over sixteen years (2010–2025) for all available satellite L-band radiometer measurements, with regional extensions utilising C-band radiometer data. Albavalor contributes to scientific analysis and exploitation of these climate data records.

SIDENCA project is launched

November 2025

SIDENCA (Intelligent System for Risk Detection and Decision-Making in Disaster Scenarios) has been launched with the objective of developing an interoperable, scalable and multi-sectoral platform to support the prevention and management of climate change–related disasters in the Comunitat Valenciana (Spain).

The SIDENCA platform will integrate and analyse information from multiple sources to support strategic decision-making, improve early warning capabilities, and enhance coordination and response efficiency during extreme climate events. he system will contribute to the operation of the Advanced Command Post, as well as to strategic coordination, advisory and communication activities carried out by expert committees and information units. In addition, SIDENCA will provide key support to Territorial Planning Offices by enabling the identification of areas with higher or lower exposure to specific climate-related hazards.

The project is funded by IVACE+i (AVI) within the framework of the Strategic Cooperative Projects programme (Expediente: INNEST/2025/366) (AVI FEDER Comunitat Valenciana 2021–2027), with a total grant of €872,680.06, co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).The project is implemented during the 2021–2027 funding period. SIDENCA is led by Albavalor and carried out by a consortium comprising AINIA, Laberit Sistemas, INNOVAGEO Software, the Universitat de València (IRTIC-UVEG) and the Universitat Jaume I (UJI).
